"Let's Flourish Together", Episode 12

The Market Maven
The Market Maven

I’m honored to share a recent conversation about farming, collaboration, and community—join me as I chat with The Market Maven about the heart behind Flourish Organic Farms.

Earlier this season, something truly meaningful happened. After watching our recent farm video—a short film offering a glimpse into the heart of Flourish Organic Farms—Sarah of The Market Maven reached out to me with an invitation that both surprised and honored me.

The Market Maven is a local Farmers Market director, passionate advocate for farmers, makers, and dreamers, and a storyteller who uses her podcast to peel back the layers behind the 10x10 tents and highlight the “why” behind what we do.

After a wonderful phone chat to get to know one another, she invited me to be a guest on her podcast. I was honored (and a little nervous!) to say yes. She sent over some thoughtful questions to consider, and soon after, we recorded a conversation that felt more like talking to an old friend.

In this episode, we talked about the journey from my very first market experiences to the creation of the Floral Current Flower Collective. We explored how choosing local isn’t just about what you buy—it’s about the community you help build, one small choice at a time.

One of the themes that resonated deeply was the power of collaboration over competition—how creating space for everyone to thrive makes our communities richer, stronger, and more resilient.

“From her first market experiences to building a collaborative flower collective, Kari shares how choosing local isn’t just about what you buy—it’s about who you’re building up in the process.”

Our conversation touched on the ripple effects of showing up for your local market—whether you’re a vendor, a shopper, or simply someone who believes in the magic of local food and flowers.

“This episode will inspire you to plant seeds that matter and flourish together.”

I couldn’t agree more.

We also mentioned some wonderful organizations doing good work, including:

I hope this conversation leaves you feeling as inspired as it left me. And if you ever have a chance to share your own story—whether on a podcast, in a conversation, or at a market booth—please say yes. You never know who you might encourage or what seeds you might plan

Consider sharing episode 12 with a your favorite farmer or artisan.

Keep Flourishing Friends, Kari
