Dear Friends of Flourish,

Some experiences quietly shape the direction of our journey. For me, the Country Living & Modern Homesteading Expo has been one of those steady guideposts. My journey with the Expo began in 2019, the year I first met Dr. Temple Grandin. Standing in that room, surrounded by farmers, educators, homesteaders, and families, I felt something click, a deep affirmation that thoughtful, values-based agriculture and stewardship truly matter.

Since then, the Expo has been a consistent place of learning, connection, and growth. A local tradition that I would like to share with you.

From Student to Contributor

One of the most meaningful chapters of this journey has been through beekeeping. I’ve had the privilege of learning from treatment-free expert Tamila Morgan. Tamila has literally blazed the trail in treatment-free beekeeping. Her commitment to hive health, observation, and research for the bees has shaped not only my practices but my perspective. We have fostered a small but mighty collective of treatment-free beekeepers known as the Stilly Valley Bee Collective since 2020.

At the 2026 Expo, Tamila will be teaching Beginning Beekeeping & Natural Beekeeping.

Our Stilly Valley Bee Collective will be present throughout the Expo, ready to answer questions, share real-world experience, and encourage both new and seasoned beekeepers alike. Whether you’re bee-curious or deep into your apiary journey, you’ll find support and community here. I invite you to visit our booth. Please introduce yourself.
